I wouldn't call those useless in PvE at all. Dolyak/Stamina saved my ass a few times against a Destroyer spike while the monks were able to catch up healing. Strength is pretty near useless, but at least it does something. They won't get much use, but they're there. Plus, I imagine a little footnote at the bottom of their skill descriptions: "Equipping this skill cumulatively grants +10 to attack skills."

Is +60 only slightly more than +36? I figured it would be more than "slightly more." It's nearly twice as much?

I ran a Nameless Isle test with Flail+FGJ+Evis+Exec+Agonizing vs. Symbolic (+15^50 customized @16 Axe). With Evis I finished all 4 dummies between 43 and 46 seconds. With Symbolic I finished between 45 and 50. No surprise Symbolic was slower, but it didn't get blown away. In environments saturated with DW, I still don't think Symbolic is a bad choice.

But the fact that you're dedicating more than half your skill bar to make one skill perform slightly worse than Eviscerate would kinda speaks for itself.

Just bring Eviscerate, it's easier and saves you spots on your skill bar.

Actually I run Eviscerate more often and GB only for soloing and farming...

But the fact remains, all self-proclaimations aside...

Symbolic Strike is garbage on a warrior attempting to use it. For it to do damage, you need like 4 signets to do anything worth mentioning...

I'm pretty sure any warrior worth doing damage is going to agree with me on this, despite my builds or not...

Agreed. I've thought about it, and the most signets I could EVER squeeze onto a build vaguely resembling workable is 3.

Let's go Axe for now, with a 1-skill DW it's the most flexible of the weapons when skills are limited.

Ok, so we stick our 3 signets - Res sig, Healsig then Signet of Malice/Purge Sig/Antidote sig on the build. Then we put on the other necessities - Frenzy and Rush/Dash. Right. 5 skills used.
Naturally, Eviscerate is the elite - after all, it is very good at bar compression, and it... well... kicks ass. Now, then our other attack skills... Bull's Strike? Executioner Strike? Agonizing Chop? ... or Symbolic Strike? Are you telling me I'd rather stick on a basic +30dmg attack than one of those 3? lawl

Yup, Symbolic Strike sucks on warriors. You need a decent number of signets to make it worthwhile, but when skills are limited... There's much better, stronger, more flexible attacks you can bring.

... and that build was gonna turn out exceedingly lame, btw... I can't live without all 3 of them other attacks...

Symbolic strike needs to be buffed and linked to strenght.
Symbolic strike (Strenght)
5 Adrenalin (instead of actually 4)
For each signet you have equipped, Symbolic strike deals +5....17....21 damage (max 70).
At 13 Strength, max damage is attained with 4 signets, and bearing only 3 deals +54 damage.

But then everyone would use it, it would have no downside as a lot of people run 3 signets anyway +54 is a lot of +damage for 5a.

Link to srength, reduce the max added damage and increase the damage per signet, so it can be used in a rounded bar but doesnt add mega damage. Cap at about +50, keep adrenaline cost low, and add about 6...14...18 damage. so at 13 strength and 3 signets it would do +35 damage, and for 4-5a thats worthwhile.

So it would be a bit like this would be a bit like this:


4a
Melee Attack. If this attack hits, you strike for +6...14...18 damage for each signet you have equipped. (Maximum +50 Damage)

Still useless. 4 signets vs. 4 +dmg warrior skills. 13 strength? There goes Watch Yourself!! making the party squishier than needed. [unless it's not pve, ah well]

54 dmg every 5 swings will not beat a four hit combo on any warrior. Sword skill spam will still out-dps anything Symbolic strike can do, buffed or not.

I say, leave it for signet based mesmers / monks who need some way of fighting back even though it may be horrifically weak. [unless they can whip out that 60 max dmg every swing, then instead, i'd say lower the adrenal cost to 3, THEN we've got a skill that might make people think] Mark of Fury'ed foe with this skill would be HOT...
